Herbology/Care Of Magical Creatures: Lesson 2; all ages

Atreus stood by the windows. Dew drops sparkled on the trees outside that seemed to move each time you'd look away.

She smiled slyly at a flower poking up from the blades of grass with striking blue petals, and a splash of purple.

Morning Glories.

She slipped out the open window and plucked the flower, climbing back inside and shutting the windows just in time to escape a wicked blow of
wind.

"Nice try." She snapped, setting it down in a pot and placing it on a certain student's desk. One quite fond of the blue and purple beauty.

As the students piled in she instructed a ginger haired second-year to pass out the textbooks.

She couldn't help feeling energetic, and raced around making sure nobody was out of whack. Meaning, Everything was in order.

She thought, glancing at the students.

Riley walked solemnly into the room gazing at the sunlight outside.

What a beautiful day.

But when she saw the morning Glory on her desk, she squealed like a little girl and ran over to it examining the petals.

"It-it's stunning...."

She gently felt a blue and purple petal with her finger and smiled breathlessly, then nodding a thanks to Professor Williams.

Victoria grinned and looked at the flower sitting on Riley's desk.

She raised a hand.

"What are we doing today, Professor Williams?"

"Yeah, I was wondering the same thing."

Riley moved the flower to the corner of her desk and smiled.

Atreus sat on her desk and peered at them.

"Well," She began promptly, "Today we will be studying Shrivelfigs, then skinning them."

"Skinning!" Riley repeated holding her breath, "That sounds painful."

She twirled her finger around the morning glory and furrowed her brow.

I'd never skin you..

"Shrivelfigs? Whaaaat?" Victoria's eyebrows scrunched together.

"No idea." Riley said turning to Victoria and shaking her head.

// Victoria you ok? You havent been at school for like 4 days. im getting worried and ethan keeps smiling at me i think i might have a heart attack.//

Atreus questioningly tilted her head at the young blonde abgehenden girl.

"Yes. Fair child, Shrivelfigs are plants. Had you not known of them? How odd.."

Atreus smiled at them all. "They originated in Abyssinia. Can any of you tell me anything you know about them? Surely some of you have heard of them..?"

Riley thought she saw the professor look at her and blurted out,


"Hey, Don't look at me. I'm dumber than a box of rocks."

"Are they shriveled-up figs? Or figs that shrivel? Or-" Vicotira gasped, "PRUNES?"

Riley silently raised an eyebrow and looked at the professor.

Prunes? What the..?

"Victoria, Do you honestly think we're going to be peeling prunes for no reason at all?"

"Eheh.....maybe?..." Vicoria giggled awkwardly.

"That would just be awkward.."

Riley giggled slightly and rubbed her forehead.

"Hey, where are those males?" Victoria asked no one in particular. She just asked.

"Don't know." Riley answered.

She shrugged and looked around silently.

"LOGAN!" Victoria screamed suddenly.

"WHAT? WHERE!!??" Riley looked around with a serious look on her face.

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Victoria fell out o her chair and onto the floor.


"I-I'm d-d-dying!"

"...Good." She said stubbornly sticking her tongue out and crossing her arms like a little sister fighting with her older sister.

"Psst Riley! Your fly's undone!"

"Oh really, You're a card Victoria. Real genuine."

Riley tapped her fingers agitatedly on her desk.

"Ye-ahhh.....knew I was pushing my luck," Victoria muttered, propping her legs up on her desk.

Ohh... victoria.." Riley said through a laugh.

"You're a different one for sure.."

Atreus impatiently snapped her fingers in Riley's face.

"If you two could come down to Earth long enough to begin, I'd be ever so happy."
